RISHI RICH PROJECT

His skills have been employed by the likes of Britney Spears, Mary J Blige, Craig David and Mis-Teeq. Rishi released his own single Dance With You in September 2003, featuring Punjabi vocalist Juggy D and singer/rapper Jay Sean. The track reached number 12 in the UK charts. The two join him on the new Kiss 100fm Friday night showS. This is another leap forward for the growing British Urban-Desi street music scene. It reflects the breadth of music playing in both Asian and mainstream clubs across the UK, mixing up unique sounds with R&B, hip-hop, dancehall and all manner of street genres.

Around Christmas 2002, Jay Sean's demo made it’s way to Rishi Rich’s studio and within days he was signed to 2Point9 and plans were made immediately to launch him to the world. In 2003, Juggy D became part of the Rishi Ri ch Project – a music movement set up to showcase up-and-coming artists. The critically acclaimed debut single “Dance with you (tere naal nachna)” featuring Jay Sean was released on Virgin Records in Sept 2003.

Following the success of the monthly Eastern Drum & Breaks night at Herbal, Shiva Soundsystem have re-launched a weekly event FIRE :: Eastern Drum & Space. The nucleus of FIRE is Easte rn influenced music and it has been a key player in showcasing fresh talent including several previously unknown home grown and international artists. It incorporates an added infusion of visual and live elements. Periodic cult world film screenings are also a new feature, whilst live music and a host of special guests from across the international Asian music scene are set to maintain the flow of the Eastern Drum & Space concept. Shiva Soundsystem is lead by former Charged member Nerm who is established as the key element for MTV.India from India to the Uk bringing previous footage and interviews at the launch of the 1st Nishaan Night to MTV.India.
