MARK B

‘MOVE..NOW’ Featuring TOMMY EVANS

Label: GENUINE

Format / Cat Number: 12” GEN033T / CD GEN033CD

Release date: 13 September 2004

‘Move..Now’ is the eagerly anticipated release from one of the UK’s most highly regarded & respected Hip Hop producers Mark B.

Since Mark started circulating some CDR’s and then a one-sided 12” in June the track has become a huge underground hit in the clubs and ‘Move..Now’ is poised to go overground. With growing support at national radio from the specialists (respect due), up through Steve Lamacq & Zane Lowe (Zane’s total plays into double figures) and now daytime support from Jo Whiley it’s now abundantly clear that Mark B has returned with his most prominent, powerful & advanced production to date.

For those that don’t know or need to be reminded about Mark’s achievements within the UK music scene, his most renowned worked came in 2000 when he released the groundbreaking ‘Unknown’ LP with partner Blade, selling over 45,000 LP’s just in the UK alone. The duo had two top 40 singles, went on to tour with the likes of Eminem, Feeder, Stereo MC’s, performed at the Radio one big day out and Leeds & Reading festivals as well as headlining their own sell out shows all across Europe.

Mark has shown versatility and adaptability to work with artists worldwide. He has also released and collaborated on music with the likes of Taskforce, MUD Family & Skinnyman, Rodney P, Scratch Perverts, Phi Life Cypher, Lewis Parker, DJ Vadim, Swollen Members (Canada), Al Tariq & Missin Linx (New York), Arsonists (Rock Steady Crew - New York), Petter (Sweden), Saian Supa Crew (France), Paleface (Finland), Azad (Germany) and Waxolutionists (Austria) to name but a few.

Most recently Mark B has recently completed a remix of the classic ‘Dr Who’ theme from the imminent BBC Radio Phonic Workshop remix album.

‘Move..Now’ features Leeds born & raised Tommy Evans, who has released various singles and EPs on his own independent label 'YNR' records set up with partners Jehst & Cee-whycy in 1999. Tommy has supported and worked with artists such as De la soul, Jehst, Non Phixon, Stereo MCs, Nightmares on Wax and Martina Topley-bird (Tricky). He can often be found touring across Europe with Neneh Cherry. He is also currently recording his own LP due for release this summer on his YNR label. This single will feature on that LP.

The single has been picked up from Mark B’s self owned independent label K BORO [set up in 1995], for an international release on GENUINE, the label who gave you DJ Format, Amp Fiddler and Blend Crafters to name but a few.

‘Move..Now’ would be best described as a cutting edge Hip hop bullet fusing Bollywood beats with hard edged funk.

Mark & Tommy Evans can be found touring the UK as we speak. Please check these sites for future dates:
