Br-Asian Media Consulting are proud to announce yet again that the definitive Br-Asian Music Awards (BrAMAs) 2004 will be broadcast on ITV1 later this year.

Last year’s ITV broadcasts were viewed by 1 Million & the Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve broadcasts on B4U Music reached a staggering audience across 100 countries! Steve Anderson, ITV Controller of Current Affairs, Religion & Arts commented:

"ITV1 is delighted to continue its involvement with the Br-Asian Music Awards. We were very happy with the event as broadcast last year, and are excited to participate in the BrAMAs 2004. We recognise the ever growing Urban Asian Market scene and see the BrAMAs becoming an exciting date in the music events calendar."

This year’s award ceremony takes place in October and will reflect the BritAsian Music scene with 15 cutting edge BrAMA categories. The BrAMAs will remain a publicly voted for award ceremony with votes cast online & via SMS. However the BrAMAs will introduce a prestigious industry panel responsible for deciding 2004’s nominees.

BBC Radio 1’s Nihal who will be presenting this year show added:

"It was off the hook last year and I am honoured to have been asked to participate in the BrAMAs 2004. Yet again it will give Asian artists, producers, and musicians the exposure they deserve as well as celebrating the musical diversity that is blowing up on the dance floors, TV screens and across the radio waves of the nation."

With the Glastonbury Festival later this month locked down to mark the beginning of this year’s BrAMA activities, Moiz Vas , Br-Asian’s MD, commented:

"... the team and I are committed to further penetrate our communities through grass root level activities… we will be introducing a nation-wide club tour to promote local up & coming artists within the Asian conurbations across the UK and a music seminar to prepare and arm our youth so they can break into decision making roles in the mainstream music business to further develop our music scene"

He continued:

" ..it is important that the Asian music industry takes lead and together we build upon our recent commercial success in the mainstream which is only the beginning. Together we can sustain the broader success of some of the freshest artists and sounds the mainstream has witnessed for a while…The Asian buying strength thru high street music retailers have positioned the likes of Rishi Rich, Jay Sean & Raghav in the mainstream and we can look forward too see many other Asian artists follow suit..."

Rishi Rich, Kiss 100 Presenter & Last Year’s Winner of Best Producer.

"...this ceremony is key in broadening the exposure of young British Asian talent. There are so many young singers, producers, writers, & DJ's growing up in Asian communities around the UK, who will be inspired by seeing events like this acknowledged by the mainstream"

There will be cross promotional services with our Media Supporters which include: ITV, BBC Radio 1, Kiss 100, Eastern Eye, Tense Magazine & Me Media. So get ready, the BrAMAs 2004 is set to be another-ground breaking event taking British Asian music to the next level and crystallizing the Asian contribution to the mainstream marketplace. It gonna be so exciting…. Raghav, who gears towards a single release next month commented:

"..it has been a really good year for me with 3 releases charting in the National Top.10. The success of Can't Get Enough with parts in Hindi clearly suggests we have a prominent place in the mainstream. I performed last year at the awards after party when I was still preparing for the 1st single release. I'm looking forward to the BrAMA 2004 later this year."
